Montana State University professor Jioanna Carjuzaa, the 2013 recipient of the National Association for Multicultural Education’s G. Pritchy Smith Multicultural Educator of the Year Award given for scholarly commitment to teaching from a multicultural perspective, will be visiting with UConn’s Math LEAD and McNair Program staffs March 25 & 27. Carjuzaa, who is also considered one of the nation’s leading scholars on the implementation of Indian Education for All (IEA), a constitutional mandate that aims to ensure that every Montanan learns about the distinct and unique heritage of American Indians, will be discussing her work in several courses and will present some of her research on the teaching and implementation of the IEA curriculum by pre-service and in-service educators, on Thursday, March 27, at 4:00 in Gentry 144.
